Protecting God’s Children for Adults is an awareness and educational session which all members of parish and diocesan staff (clergy and laity) and volunteers are required to attend.  If you wish to remain or become a volunteer in our school in the future, you must attend a session. This would include, but not limited to, all coaches, classroom/library volunteers, playground, tutors, and field trip chaperones.  The policy requires you to attend one session, or you may not volunteer in the school. If you have previously attended VIRTUS training then it is not required to attend again.

The next session at St. Jerome School will be held:

Monday, September 19th      6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

You must pre-register on-line at www.virtus.org.

If this day and time do not work for you, there are other sessions available at surrounding schools/parishes.  You may view and pre-register these sessions on www.virtus.org.

I will be co-facilitator for this session, along with Stephanie Beaver DRE.  If you have any questions about this policy or the educational sessions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  The purpose of VIRTUS is to raise your awareness on how to prevent and detect the abuse of children.  Our primary goal has always been to ensure the safety of our children.  This program helps us to be even more diligent in our efforts.

Sincerely,

Jamie Cotter, Principal
