Youth Ministry

Mission Statement

The mission of St. Jerome Youth Ministry is to help our teens to place Jesus Christ at the center of their lives. We are committed to leading them to develop a great love for our Lord and to appreciate His special Presence in the Eucharist, the Source and the Summit of their lives as Catholics. We aim to help them to contemplate and understand what a great gift we have been given. Jesus Christ is the Vine, we are the branches; without Him, we can do nothing but wither and die. We want our teens to focus on Him, and we will strive to lead our teens to Him. He and He alone is the reason for our ministry with our teens. We will help our teens develop a “Christ-centered vision. It is a call to empower (our) young people for the mission they have been given by the Lord Jesus.” RTV /USCCB

Goals

“At this stage of history, the liberating message of the Gospel has been put into your hands. And the mission of proclaiming it to the ends of the earth is now passing to your generation, the young Church. We pray with the whole Church that we can meet the challenge of providing coming generations with reasons for living and hoping.
Pope John Paul II World Youth Day 1993

We are totally committed to the three fundamental goals of all Catholic Youth Ministry as established by the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops:

  1. To empower our teens to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today
  2. To draw our teens to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community
  3. To foster the personal and spiritual growth of each of our teens.
