Adult Formation

Bible Study Header

“Those who are already disciples of Jesus Christ. ..[need] to be constantly nourished by the word of God so that they may grow in their Christian life. Such lifelong formation is always needed and must be a priority in the Church’s catechetical ministry; moreover, it must “be considered the chief form of catechesis. All the other forms, which are indeed always necessary, are in some way oriented to it.” (USCCB, Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us – par. 12-13)

“Adult Catholics must be mature in faith and well equipped to share the Gospel, promoting it in every family circle, in every church gathering, in every place of work, and in every public forum. They must be women and men of prayer whose faith is alive and vital, grounded in a deep commitment to the person and message of Jesus.” (USCCB, Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us—par. 2)

Faith Formation Opportunities

Bible Study

Bible Studies are a wonderful way to better understand the Catholic Faith. The more we can understand the written Word of God, the more we understand the beliefs, celebrations, and rituals of our Faith. Simply reading the Bible can be very confusing, so Bible studies are an immeasurable tool for faith formation.

In the past, we have offered, “A Quick Journey Through the Bible,” and “The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation.” Currently our bible study group is completing, “Matthew: The King and His Kingdom.”

If you are unable to commit to a weekly bible study, but are still interested in participating in one, bible study materials may be checked out from the Religious Education Office and done on your own time.
